Suggestions if you use a standard extractor units with aluminium cutting
saws:
-
Confirm that the unit you purchase has a steel fan.
-
Replace the lower bag(s) with a plastic bag(s) and replace after use if
approximately filled ¾.
-
Utilise the second or third suction air inlet to attach an extra hose
that can be utilised as vacuum cleaner (Hoover); usually 3” will do the
trick and a section of PVC shaped storm pipe makes a good nozzle.
- The
inlet to the saw might be 1 1/2 “or 2”. Make two cuts about 100mm on the
end of your 3” or 4” hose and use a quality hose clamp to attach to the
saw.
-
Depending on the type and use of the saw the PVC extraction hose might
brake frequently. To surmount the problem replace the last section of
the hose to the saw (600mm to 1200mm) with a section of polycarbonate
hose.
- Use
the second or third extractor inlet to restrict the air flow (air
volume) so that you get maximum air flow.
- Use
only water based Synthetic cutting fluid like LUNASOL with your
aluminium cutting saw. Oil base cutting fluid will produce an oil mist
via the extractor bags. Breathing oil mist or vapour can be harmful for
your health.
