Cognex InSight vision system checks that four shafts are present and that the cast shafts are of the desired type to prevent tool breakage.  

Photos were taken during commissioning of a Cognex set-up with a CNC machine that is utilised to produce a component for use in the automotive industry.

  

This Cognex machine vision system is based on an In-Sight 4001 high resolution sensor located about 1.2m above the shaft nesting.

 

The Machine centre communicates with the Cognex Machine Vision System by specialised machine code via discrete in and out-puts of the Cognex expansion module.

 

 

The vision system was supplied with a touch screen PC that displays the operation of the vision system and shows the operator what error occurred.
